THE mother of Barisan Nasional's Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat candidate Adzhaliza Mohd Nor was attacked and robbed by a knife-wielding man in her Kajang home on Tuesday.
Berita Harian reported that Zainon Ahmad, 73, heard a knock on her door at around 10am and proceeded to open it, thinking her daughter had returned home.
As soon as she opened the door, the man attacked Zainon, who was home alone at the time, and threatened her not to scream for help before ransacking her house.
The report said the man fled with RM10,000 in jewellery and RM5,000 in cash.
Adzhaliza was said to have been at a party meeting in Shah Alam during the robbery.
“My mother is safe and unhurt. She assured me not to worry. I told my husband to keep her company,” Adzhaliza told the daily.
